Freakonomics

It seems to be a quite awkward title for a book but according to the authors it's the best that summarises the whole content of the book.
Talking about Economics is not an easy task, particularly when you've got to refer to everyday life. Additionally, the deal with everyday falacies, and propose reasonings to overcome these "convetional knowledge" shortages.

Levitt and Dubner do a great job explaning a variety of diffent subjects. They arrive to conclusions after extensive data analysis, thus being more scientific than the average "expert"/fanatic.
For instance, I would point out the superb analysis the have done regarding abortion and crime (Chapter 4). They managed to consider most of the main issues raised by different authors and afterwards they delivered their own conclusions.

Really good. I definitively recommend it!

Yeah I tend to agree, this is a great book, I found it somewhat short but it really shows how to mix analysis with common sense... and most important it really shows that Econometrics is maybe the only part of Economy worth studying the rest is kinda BS (Bullshit Science)

Thanks for the comment. I'd know if everything apart from Econometrics is bullshit but definitively it is quite practical.
